Chennai

Chennai the capital of Tamilnadu state, was formerly known as Madras, It is said after acquired from the the King Chennappa Nayakar Britishers named it Chennapattinam, after it became Chennai. Situated on the coast of bay of Bengal, Chennai is one of the metro cities in India & centre for the cultural & trade of the south India. It is bordered by Bay of Bengal on east and Chengalpattu, Thiruvallur Districts on North, south and west side.

Southern railway headquarter is situated at Chennai. Chennai Central is the terminus where it is connected to all routes to connect to major cities & towns in India. Chennai Edmore terminus is connected neighbor cities in Tamilnadu.

It is well connected through National Highways as well, NH 48 (Mumbai – Chennai) previouly NH 4  connects to the financial capital of the country which passes through Mumbai,Pune, Hubli, Bangalore. NH 16 (Kolkata – Chennai) previously NH 5 is passes through Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Vishakhapatnam, Nellore, &  Chennai.  NH 45 A (Chennai – Theni) which passes  through Guindy, Meenambakkam, Periyar Nagar, & exit at Tambaram and further passes through Villupuram,Tiruchirapalli, Dindigul. NH 205 (Chennai – Madanapalle) is passing through Anantpur, Tirupati, Nagari, &  Chennai. It is connected to cities major cities by the Golden Quadrilateral. The outer ring road connects NH 45 A  at Perungalathur, NH 48 at Nazarathpet, NH 205 at Nemilicherry(Thiruninravur), and NH 16 at Nallur.

The city is connected through sea with port of Chennai, which is biggest port in Bay of Bengal. , It is second largest cargo hub of India which handles majorly Automobile & Industrial cargo. The port is providing trade links with Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Burma, Bangladesh, Ceylon and other far eastern countries. Another port at (Ennore Port) handles Coal, Ore & Mineral products. The local transportation is done through the Chennai which runs through two terminals Chennai central & Marina Beach by passing major areas Egmore, Ashok  nagar,ekkadduthnangal,velacherry,Tharamani & Nadukuppam,
