The local area is served through Suburban Railways. The suburban Railway Stations connected to Indore Junction  are Lakshmibai Nagar,  Rajendra Nagar,  Lokmanya Nagar,  Mhow, Rau,  Saifi Nagar, & Patalpani.

 Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar   Airport   at Depalpur Road  which is  located 8 km  from the city centre, serves the town & nearby areas.

To  provide  a modern and efficient public transport with the help of DMRC, The government has  propsed Light  Metro in the city.  the six corridors planned by the DMRC are  Annapurna,  Sukhliya, super corridor  MR 10 , Ring Road , Niranjanpura , Bhawarkuwa.

 Super Corridor a 12 Km corridor which runs from  Indore airport to  Vijay Nagar Square is one of the lavish zone of Indore, there has been lot of development is propsed as  IT, educational projects are coming up in this  area.

 Rau  also known as A.B.Road  close to NH 3, the area also has the railway station the area has residential projects by leading developers , the area also has the good number of educational institutes like Indian Institute of Mangement, Rajiv Gandhi Technical University & Devi Ahilya University.

Industry  in Indore.

Due to its trade and industry, the residents of the city called  Indore as “Mini Bombay”.

Cotton textiles are the Indor’s  major product, but iron and steel, chemicals, and machinery are also manufactured,  major units are established at  Sanwer Road,  Pologround, Laxminagar, Rau, Bhagirathpura, Shivajinagar, &  Hatod.
